“How is this moral? How is this acceptable? This is child abuse. Let's not stop until we get all the children off Nauru" - Kon Karapanagiotidis, CEO of the ASRC
High Tees has aligned with the Asylum Seekers Resource Centre (ASRC) in Melbourne to create the Young and Not Free Tee in support of removing children and their families from the Nauru Detention Centres.
The critical condition in which the children are now in has been well documented. Most recently, the apolitical NGO, Medicines Sans Frontier (MSF) slammed the Australian Government for the atrocious conditions the children are living in and stressed their severe concerns of the mental and physical wellbeing of the remaining children.
"I am very passionate about this cause. Every time I think that the Australian Government has children in detention, I am in total disbelief. This is a stain on our Australian Narrative and needs to end. What free country locks up little children in the name of "stopping the boats"? It is inhumane and disgraceful. These children are innocent. I feel compelled to do something. Although the High Tees platform is still a small one, it is still a platform to use. This has been the hardest T Shirt to design and I have agonised over every aspect. I hope people wear this t shirt with pride and determination to agitate for change. And fingers crossed in no time at all, we can proudly say, there are no more children living in detention on Nauru" Jess McDonald, High Tees Founder.
Wear it proudly and loudly. Together we can make a change.
