Sam Neill - beloved Kiwi actor who has graced our screens for over 40 years, staring in some of the most iconic films of all time - Jurassic Park, Dead Calm, My Brilliant Career, The Piano, The Hunt for Red October - just to name a few. Add to this, his distinguished TV career as well. 

He has received numerous acting awards including Logie Award for Most Outstanding Actor and the Longford Lyell Award. He has been nominated for Golden Globes and Emmys. He was also awarded the DCNZM (Distinguished Companion of New Zealand Order of Merit) which is an honour that can be converted to knighthoods. Neill in his usual humble way declined his "Sir" title as he felt it was "just far too grand, by far". 

We have proclaimed him the Best Man of 2020, because his social media was such a bright shining light of positivity, kindness, calm, humour and such joy, we know he was a beacon of hope for so many during such a challenging year. If you are now following him, go do it now!! Right now!!
