Iggy Azalea is Australia's most popular female rapper. First hitting the airwaves via YouTube, she quickly gained a following. She signed to Grand Hustle Records in 2012 and since then has gone on to have a series of mega hits. She is the first non-America female rapper to have a number 1 Album on the Billboard RnB charts. She also the only other artist than The Beatles to have a Number 1 and Number 2 at the same time with their first two Hot 100 entries. 

Usually outspoken and at times controversial, Iggy is not shy of speaking her mind. She has been criticised for cultural appropriation, rapping in a southern American accent which she says is part of her history having spent a lot of her teenage years in the south. 

Love her and not, she has broken in to a highly male and American dominated industry and come out on top. Probably Mullumbimby, NSW most famous export!
